Responsible Entity
The Responsible Entity (RE) of the Balmain Discrete Mortgage Income Trusts (BDMIT) is Balmain Fund Administration Limited (BFAL). Balmain Fund Administration Limited acts as Responsible Entity for several other commercial mortgage investments trusts. Balmain Fund Administration Limited is licenced pursuant to the Corporations Act (AFSL 333213) to carry on a financial services business and to act as Responsible Entity (RE).
Each registered scheme for which BFAL acts as Responsible Entity is governed by a constitution. A compliance plan is prepared for each registered scheme which describes the key processes, systems and structures that the Responsible Entity will apply to ensure compliance with the Corporations Act, the schemes’ constitution and financial service laws. The plan is required to be audited annually and the audit report is lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). BFAL has established compliance plans and supporting compliance reporting procedures which are consistently applied to ensure that it continues to meet its obligations.
Michael Holm
Michael is the Chair, founder and a major shareholder in Balmain. Michael is one of the most highly experienced commercial lending executives in Australia, having been personally involved in raising over $7 billion in commercial loans. Michael is a member of Balmain's credit & investment committees, is RG146 compliant and is a responsible manager under BFAL's AFSL.
Andrew Griffin
Andrew joined Balmain in 2005 and is currently Group Chief Executive and a major shareholder in Balmain. Andrew helped guide Balmain's course from loan origination to lender/ manager and has profound experience through all levels of real estate and secured debt management. Andrew is RG146 compliant and a responsible manager under BFAL's AFSL.
